Focus on healing the nation, Mudavadi tells Jubilee

Amani National Coalition (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi has advised the Jubilee administration to focus on healing the nation, following termination of the International Criminal Court (ICC) case against Deputy President William Ruto and journalist Joshua Arap Sang.

Speaking in Malava, Mudavadi said it is high time the government worked on recommendations made in the Truth Justice and Reconciliation Commission (TJRC) report.

The Amani National Congress leader further condemned the chaos witnessed during Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula’s presidential bid launch at Masinde Muliro Gardens.

He also took the chance to also intensify his presidential bid saying the Jubilee government has failed in its mandate.

Mudavadi was speaking during a fundraising event at Musungu primary school in Malava, in Kakamega County.

On Tuesday, the International Criminal Court (ICC) terminated the crimes against humanity case against Deputy President William Ruto and his co-accused Joshua Arap Sang.

In its decision, the ICC cited witness interference and political meddling in its ruling.

“The proceedings are declared a mistrial due to a troubling incidence of witness interference and intolerable political meddling,” said the ICC statement.

On Friday, Deputy President William Ruto said he had forgiven those who ‘fixed’ him at the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Speaking for the first time since the ICC Trial Chamber terminated his case, Ruto said he was fixed at the ICC and that “the allegations that were made against me were criminal acts of evil minds that connived against us.”

“And for those who hired, bribed and coached witnesses to bring his case against me, I pray that God will bring them to repentance,” said Ruto.

On Thursday, former Kass FM presenter Joshua Arap Sang said the Party of National Unity (PNU) fixed him..

Speaking to Citizen Digital Thursday morning, Sang said the case at the ICC was politically motivated and those in the government fixed him and five others.

“I did not expect to be in that list. There are many people who were involved in taking us to the ICC. Those who fixed me know it, they have announced themselves, there is no need to repeat it,” said Sang.
