Focus on the presidential seat, Odinga tells Nyanza leaders
Nominated Member of Parliament Dr. Oburu Odinga has told Nyanza leaders to focus on the presidential seat, claiming it’s the only post they should be targeting.
Speaking during the burial of Central Kanyamakago ward representative, Hon. Michael Osungu, Dr. Oburu urged ODM party members to focus on the presidential campaign because it would bring more ‘goodies’.
He assured aspirants that the party will conduct free and fair party nominations come 2017, as this would help ODM party achieve the six-piece voting pattern.
The burial was also attended by Uriri MP John Kobado, Awendo MP Jared Kopiyo and Migori County Governor Zachary Obado among other local leaders.
Over the past few weeks the Coalitions for reforms and Democracy (CORD) has been embroiled in a power struggle with the top three parties each claiming that their co-principal should be selected to run for presidency come 2017.
The Coalition is yet to announce how they will select their presidential candidate, even as political pundits opine the fallout from the selection of a candidate could spell out doom for the Opposition coalition.
