FORD-Kenya endorses ODM candidate for Migori senatorial by-election

FORD-Kenya Party has endorsed the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) candidate for the upcoming Migori senatorial by-election slated for October 8, 2018.

Speaking on Saturday, FORD-Kenya Migori branch chairman Samwel Odhiambo Mogare said they will support the candidate fronted by the coalition partner; ODM.

“We want a candidate who will bring development in the county, make use of resources from the National government and more so someone who do oversight role in the county,” said Mr. Mogare

Mr. Mogare supported ODM’s nomination criteria saying the Orange party had picked a candidate with the capacity  to steer devolution

He appealed to the electorates in Migori County and the candidates eyeing the seat to desist from utterances that are likely to cause division and hatred.

Seven candidates are set to battle it out for the Migori Senatorial seat which fell vacant following the death of Senator Ben Oluoch Okello who succumbed to throat cancer on June 19, 2018, at the MP Shah Hospital in Nairobi.

The candidates include; Dr. Ochilo Ayako of ODM, former Rongo MP Dalmas Otieno, former Migori MP John Pesa, Migori KUPPET Executive secretary Mr. Orwa Jasolo, former Migori KUPPET chairperson Mr. Kennedy Makasembo, George Maando and Solomon Hodo.
