FORD Kenya seeking consensus in Trans Nzoia gubernatorial race

FORD Kenya is now seeking consensus among party gubernatorial aspirants and supporters in Trans Nzoia County in a bid to have Governor Patrick Khaemba get direct nomination to defend his seat.

According to FORD Kenya Communications Director, Tim Machi, the party Management Committee has adopted a resolution by its Trans Nzoia Branch to pick and field Khaemba through consensus.

Machi says the decision by Ford Kenya branch seeks to avert fallout from nominations in the gubernatorial race, which pits Khaemba against Andrew Mukhisa, John Wanyonyi and Moses Wafula.

The party headed by NASA co-principal Moses Wetangula says it is holding talks with the other candidates to strike a deal and ensure the party retains the seat in the August General Election.

The party nominations are scheduled for Monday, with that in Bungoma slated two days later.
