Form Four student from Chinga Boys allegedly commits suicide

A Form Four student from Chinga Boys High School in Nyeri allegedly committed suicide on Monday night.
According to the school principal Kiringo M’eringo, it is still not clear what could have led him to take his own life.
Deputy Sub County police commander Boniface Wakhanu said the boy was discovered with a bedsheet tied around his neck but added that there was no suicide note found.
The students reportedly went to bed as usual after their evening preps and it was then that the boy took his own life.
The students whose details are still unclear because the family had not yet been notified is said to have been an average student who was well behaved.
Other students in the same dormitory had to spend the night in the cold of the classroom as the dormitory became condemned off.
M’eringo said that they then called ministry officials and the police who took over the matter.
School activities have resumed and the students who are writing their end of term one exams are expected to go on break tomorrow.
The body was taken by the police and is at Kiriani Mission mortuary awaiting post mortem to give more answers as to what transpired.
