Form Four student loses testicle after corporal punishment

A form four student at St. Peter’s Kandara Boys’ High School in Murang’a County has had one of his testicles removed after he was allegedly served corporal punishment by the school’s deputy principal.

The 18-year-old is currently recuperating at the Thika Level 5 Hospital where he was rushed for treatment when he began experiencing pain in his testicles.

Narrating the ordeal to Citizen Digital, the teenager, who is a prefect at the institution, said the incident occurred the night before midterm break when he went to collect students’ register at the deputy principal’s office.

He narrated that the deputy principal accused him of being nosy and immediately gave him four strokes of the cane on his buttocks. Since then, he has been experiencing pain in his groin.

The teen says he has not been in good terms with the deputy head teacher whom he accused of threatening to ruin his life.

According to the victim’s father, the deputy principal at one point vowed to deal mercilessly with the student.

The school in the past reportedly linked the victim to peddling of illicit drugs in the institution, but could not prove their claims against him.

Citizen Digital’s attempts to reach St. Peter’s Kandara Boys’ High School for comment have borne no fruits.

The boy’s family now wants the government to intervene.
