Former CS Waiguru declares bid for Kirinyagas gubernatorial seat

Former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Ann Waiguru has today declared her bid to vie for the Kirinyaga Gubernatorial seat in 2017.

Speaking in Kirinyaga town Waiguru said that she is ready to face off with the incumbent Joseph Ndathi for the Jubilee Party ticket.

Waiguru, who was accompanied by a section of Jubilee Coalition aspirants, pledged to support the women and youth as well as develop the county as a whole.

Her announcement comes just a day after receiving a Golden TNA membership certificate after joining President Uhuru Kenyatta’s The National Alliance (TNA) party.

Despite having previously trained her sights on the Nairobi governor’s seat after resigning from the cabinet, sources close to the former Devolution CS indicate that she is currently testing the waters before settling on a running mate.

Waiguru is also hoping to make history as the first woman governor in the country.

At the same time, Kigumo MP Jamleck Kamau has today declared his bid for the Muranga Governor’s seat come 2017.

Speaking during his thanksgiving ceremony at Kibendera grounds in Kigumo, Kamau said that he is best suited to take over the County’s leadership claiming that Muranga Governor Mwangi Wa Iria has failed in his leadership.
