Former global rugby star Jerry Collins dies in accident

Former All Blacks Rugby hero star Jerry Collins and his spouse Alana Madil were killed in a road accident.

The two left a two month old daughter Ayla, who is in critical condition in hospital.

The couple was returning from a rugby gala dinner near the Spanish border at Canet-en-Roussillon with Alana driving when they crashed.

Tim Castle, Colllins’ long term manager spoke on behalf of the former All Blacks family saying that the family had lost a son, brother and a friend.

Mr castle assured that they will support them in this difficult moments even as Ayla’s condition is improving.

The 34 year old rugby star who is known to  have inspired all of those around him with his passion and love for the game, made his rugby debut with the Hurricanes and then the All blacks the new Zealand’s National team.

He played 74 games for the hurricanes and 50 for the All Blacks, before retiring after the 2007 Rugby World Cup.
