Former Kilifi Deputy Governor to be buried on Wednesday

Former Kilifi Deputy Governor Kennedy Kamto who was shot dead by unknown assailants will be buried on Wednesday, December 19 at his home in Rabai, Kilifi County.

According to the organizing committee, the body of the deceased will be moved from the Coast General Hospital mortuary on Tuesday and transported to his home in Nyali.

On Wednesday, the body will then be moved to the former deputy governor’s rural home in Rabai where he is set to be laid to rest.

Coast Regional Police Commander Noah Mwivanda said Kamto was accosted by three gunmen who shot and killed him as he entered his home.

According to the police boss, the gunmen demanded for money from Mr Kamto and in the ensuing confrontation, one of the gunmen shot him three times, killing him on the spot.

Kamto who served as ODM Kilifi branch chairman before ditching the party for Jubilee was Gideon Mung’aro’s running mate in the 2017 General elections.

They however lost to incumbent Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi.
