Former Kilifi South Member of Parliament and Coast Water Works Development Agency Chairman Mustafa Iddi is dead.

Iddi passed away on Wednesday morning at Premier Hospital in Mombasa where he is reported to have been undergoing treatment for pneumonia. He was aged 50.

According to his brother Amir Matsaki Chikotero, the deceased had been hospitalised for the last 10 days and succumbed to the disease after his condition deteriorated early Wednesday.

Iddi will be laid to rest later on Wednesday at his home in Bomani Kikambala area in Kilifi South. In 2017 he defended the seat on a Jubilee party ticket but lost to Ken Chonga.

Prior to joining politics, Iddi was a radio broadcaster at KBC and later moved on to NTV as a sports news presenter.
