Former Minister Henry Kosgei to run for Nandi Governor

Former Minister Henry Kosgei to run for Nandi Governor

After many months of maintaining a low profile, veteran politician and former Industrialization Minister Henry Kosgey has declared interest in the Nandi Governorship seat in next year’s General Election.

Speaking during a church service at Lelwak Catholic Church in Nandi Hills Constituency, Kosgey said he decided to heed calls by residents to run for the county’s top seat in 2017.

Kosgey said having been in politics for decades makes him the best candidate for the post in the county noting that he had consulted widely on the matter.

“I have heard your request calling me to declare my stand on the which seat I should be vying for in the next elections, and upon further consultation, I have decided to contest for Nandi Governorship post,” added Kosgey.

Kosgei revealed that he would vie for the position on people’s party of choice with clear indications pointing at the Jubilee Party.

Kosgey’s entrance into the Nandi Gubernatorial race adds to the list of aspirants gearing up for the seat including former Agriculture CS Felix Koskei and the incumbent Dr. Cleophas Lagat.
