Former Minister Simeon Nyachaes body flown to Kisii ahead of burial

There was a sombre mood in the Kisii School grounds Sunday morning as residents and leaders gathered to receive the body of former regional political kingpin; the late Former Minister Simeon Nyachae which was ferried in a police helicopter.

Family members and a host of leaders then proceeded to Nyosia village where Nyachae’s body is expected to be interred on Monday.

Kisii County Commissioner Allan Machari shared the series of activities expected on Sunday in Nyosia village at Nyachae’s residence.

Senior government officials led by Head of State President Uhuru Kenyatta are expected to grace the occasion.

Mzee Nyachae died at the Nairobi Hospital after a long illness.

He was born on February 6, 1932 in Nyaribari, Kisii County to a powerful colonial chief: Musa Nyandusi.
