Former MP son remanded over death accusations

Former Westlands Member of Parliament, Fred Gumo’s son has been remanded awaiting a ruling on his warrant of arrest.

Magero Gumo, who presented himself before the court to have the warrant of arrest lifted, is charged with causing the death of a senior state lawyer, Victor Kabaka Inyanje, by reckless driving on April 3, 2015.

It is alleged that he hit a 14-seater matatu that led to the injury of four passengers.

Senior Resident Magistrate, Faith Mutuku, said she will deliver her ruling on the issue on whether she will lift the warrant of arrest.
