Former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero is set to spend Wednesday night in police cells after he was arrested over alleged mismanagement of public funds during his tenure.

Kidero was arrested at a Nairobi hotel at around 5pm and taken to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) headquarters.
