Former police spokesman Eric Kiraithe appointed Government spokesperson
Former Police spokesman Eric Kiraithe has been appointed the National Government spokesperson.
In a statement to newsrooms and signed by Nziko Waita, the deputy Chief of Staff, Kiraithe will take up his new post immediately, moving from his current role as General Manager for Security Services at the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA).
According to the statement, the Government has made significant changes to its communication architecture to ensure timely, consistent, coherent, and coordinated communication to the public on all matters relating to the National Government’s agenda.
“The Office of the National Government spokesperson will function from the State Department of Interior and Coordination of National Government while the Office of the State House Spokesperson will remain within the Executive Office of the President,” read the statement.
In 2013, Kiraithe was appointed the Chief of Security at the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA).
Kiraithe was a long serving police spokesman.
