Former President Moi leaves hospital after operation

Retired President Daniel Arap Moi has been discharged from Ichalov Hospital in Tel Aviv, Israel after undergoing a successful knee operation.

The retired president, who is said to be in a jovial mood and in good spirits, was allowed to leave hospital by doctors after getting a clean bill of health.

Mr. Moi is now planning to spend the day visiting some holy sites in Israel and the city of Jerusalem.

His spokesman Lee Njiru indicated that the former Head of State is expected to return to the country soon.
