Former top boss at Nairobi Hospital sues for Ksh.300M

Former Nairobi Hospital ICT Director is seeking Ksh. 300 million from the hospital for alleged unlawful dismissal from service.

Timothy Odhiambo Otieno claims that he was summarily dismissed on May 9, 2019 after determination of a disciplinary committee.

Justice Hellen Wasilwa who heard the application certified the case as urgent and directed that it be served upon the respondents who include the Nairobi Hospital Board.

Inter-party hearing is set for hearing inter-parties on July 3.

According to the court papers, Mr. Otieno claims that his attempt to appeal against the decision of the committee was rejected, thus not affording him the opportunity to defend himself as provided for under the law.

“The management has acted in a manner that files against the claimant’s constitutional rights including fair administrative Action,” the court heard.
