Former Uhuru team leader explains why he ditched Jubilee

Former TNA Party Secretary General, Onyango Oloo, officially decamped to the opposition Orange Democratic Party (ODM) Wednesday, January 18.

Oloo decamped together with former TNA party chairman, Kisumu branch.

He is eyeing the Kisumu Central Parliamentary seat, currently held by Ken Obura.

Announcing the move in Kisumu, Oloo accused Jubilee Party of sidelining him and other former leaders of TNA after more than ten parties dissolved to form the President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election vehicle – Jubilee Party.

Oloo, who played a key role in President Kenyatta’s election in 2013, will battle it out for the for the ODM ticket for the Kisumu Central Parliamentary seat with Ken Obura and others in the forthcoming party nominations.

“I can assure you that we were the officials in various pioneers of The National Alliance Party, there is dissatisfaction and frustrations, it is quite unfortunate that it has come to this far,” decried Oloo.

“TNA was formed with sound ideologies, it was our hope that TNA was to unite all Kenyans, unfortunately we were told it was not truly national and that is why they merged 12 parties.”

Mr Oloo accused the now desolved United Republican Party (URP), which was led by Deputy President William Ruto, of taking control of the party systems and alienating the President’s men and women out of the governance of management of the party.

Oloo lashed out at President Kenyatta for merging political parties arguing that the move kills ideologies.

He was flanked by Kakamega TNA chairman Desmond Shinaka and other former area TNA officials who also said they had ditched the party that propelled Kenyatta to the presidency in the 2013 election.
