Four arrested during raid on illegal liquor manufacturing plant in Dandora
Four suspects were on Friday night arrested when Flying Squad detectives raided an illegal liquor manufacturing plant guised as a warehouse in Dandora, Nairobi.
The midnight raid, occasioned by tip off from members of the public, was conducted in conjunction with officers from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS).
Samuel Kihara, Peter Mwangi, Margaret Waithera and Moses Itunga were arrested and are presently in custody awaiting arraignment.
177 cartons packed with illicit spirit brands and several 20-litre drums of suspected ethanol were recovered during the operation.
A loaded private van, fake KRA and KEBS stickers, unknown chemicals, as well as packaging bottles and seal were also seized.
