Four arrested over possession of banned plastic bags

Four people have been arrested after they were found in possession of plastic bags.

The four were arrested by NEMA officials in Marsabit town on Friday.

Director of NEMA in Marsabit County Simon Tunui has cautioned the public saying that anyone found with plastic bags risks paying a fine of up to |Ksh4 million or four years imprisonment.

The culprits are: Osman Khalid , Hirbo Goso, Jackline Otieno, and Jeremiah Ngugi .

The arrest follows a ban on plastic bags that came into effect on the August 28, this year.
