Four bodies found in abandoned car in Kabete

Four bodies of middle-aged men were on Wednesday evening found inside an abandoned Probox vehicle that had been parked outside a residential flat in Gitaru area of Kabete, Kiambu County.

Kabete OCPD Joseph Ongaya said officers from Kabete Station, who were on patrol in the area, were alerted by the owner of a nearby garage who became suspicious of the unknown vehicle that had been abandoned since early morning.

“As our officers were on patrol they were informed of a suspicious vehicle,” he said.

On closer investigation, the mechanics said they saw four bodies locked in the car.

“Some of the mechanics peeped through the window and saw that there were four bodies,” he added.

The bodies did not have any visible physical injuries but appeared to have had their necks twisted.

The officers noted that the deceased may have been murdered elsewhere and dumped there.

According to Gitaru resident Joseph Karanja, this was not the first time bodies were found at the area, adding that two separate cases have been reported since last year.

Nyaga Kinyanjui, another resident, urged locals to embrace Nyumba Kumi so that they can know their neighbours, adding that cases of carjacking and burglary were on the rise in the area.

“We are living with people we don’t know, and it is important that we know our neighbours,” he said.
