Four Chinese nationals arrested over illegal gold mining in Vihiga

Four Chinese nationals were arrested on Saturday night for allegedly prospecting and mining gold without a permit in Maganyi village in Vihiga County.

The four identified as Ou Haiwen, Zhang Jinyu, Jiang Hualin & Huang Lei were arrested by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations  (DCI).

According to the DCI report, the four are in police custody and are expected to be arraigned next week.
