Four Chinese nationals, Kenyan placed under mandatory quarantine in Migori

Four Chinese nationals and their Kenyan taxi driver have been subjected to mandatory quarantine at a hotel in Migori town pending testing for the coronavirus.

The five, who are said to have driven from Nairobi on Sunday, are however yet to display any symptoms for Covid-19 infection.

They were taken into isolation upon the insistence of Migori County Health CEC Dr. Isca Oluoch who intimated that they will be released when medical practitioners are satisfied that they are safe to interact with other people.

The CEC said the Chinese nationals informed them that they came into the country early this month and have been under self-quarantine in Nairobi for the past 14 days.

According to Dr. Olouch, however, there are no documents to substantiate their claims hence they were forced to subject them to mandatory quarantine.

He further revealed that a man who recently came back to Kenya from Germany is also under isolation at the Migori Level IV Hospital even though he is yet to show any symptoms of the coronavirus.
