Four dead as boat capsizes in Masinga

Four people died and six others rescued after a boat they were travelling in capsized in Masinga Dam, Machakos County.

The boat was ferrying ten locals to Ekalakala Market when the unfortunate incident happened.

According to witnesses, the boat had not reported any mechanical problems.

This is not the first incident in which a boat has capsized in the country.

In August 2015, three fishermen died and three others rescued after their boat capsized in Lake Naivasha at Karagita area.

It was reported that the fishermen were heading back to shore after a fishing expedition when the incident occurred.

The survivors said the boat capsized due to strong winds and waves.
