Four guilty of abduction, attempted rape of Nairobi doctor
A Nairobi court on Thursday found four men, including a minor, guilty of abducting and sexually assaulting a female medical doctor at Eastleigh area in Nairobi.
The four; Mustafa Abdi Rizack, Abdalla Kama Suleiman, Harun Ali Elm and the minor are said to have abducted the female doctor while she was heading home from her clinic on July 14, 2016.
The court was told that the accused jointly attacked the victim and penetrated her private parts using a metal rod at Muratina road in Eastleigh.
They were also found guilty of jointly attempting to rape the victim; but were, however, acquitted for robbery with violence offence due to lack of sufficient evidence.
In his judgment, Makadara Chief Magistrate Eston Nyaga noted that the accused persons had no intention to steal but to intimidate the victim so that she could stop operating her clinic from Eastleigh.
It emerged that prior to the attack on the victim, the accused had been blocking, intimidating and chasing away patients who attempted to go to the woman’s clinic.
The four will appear before court on July 31, 2018 for mitigation before the court can pass sentence.
