Four killed in horrific accident on Eldoret-Webuye road
Four people died on Wednesday night while scores others sustained injuries in a road accident on the Eldoret-Webuye road.
Witnesses said that a truck driver lost control of his vehicle and rammed a 14-seater North Rift Sacco Matatu.
Three passengers who were in the matatu died on the spot while the driver succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment.
Kakamega County Police Commander Bernard Muli said his officers are in pursuit of the truck driver who fled after the accident.
He urged drivers who operate at night to ensure they adhere to traffic rules.
Three weeks ago, there was a similar accident at Mabanga area on the Eldoret-Webuye road.
One police officer died on the spot while four of his colleagues were injured.
Lugari OCPD Benedict Mwangangi said the five police officers were heading to Eldoret when a lorry hit their land-cruiser from behind.
