Four killed, several injured in different accidents

At least four people have died in different road accidents across the country.

In the first incident, one person was killed after a mini bus driver fleeing from the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) officers lost control hitting a saloon car at Nelerai area along the busy Mai Mahiu – Narok road.

The bus, which was ferrying 41 passengers among them four children, was headed to Melili from Narok.

Narok Deputy OCPD, Charles Ouma, said that the driver was fleeing from NTSA officers who had stopped him.

The deceased, a two-year old baby, died on the spot while four others sustained serious injuries.

The injured were rushed to Narok Referral Hospital.

Elsewhere, three people died and 20 others seriously injured after a bus rammed into a trailer at Kiambaa along the Nairobi – Nakuru Highway Wednesday morning.

The bus driver of the Transmara Coach rammed into a trailer from behind killing the three instantly and leaving others with injuries.

The wreckage of the vehicles was towed to Kikuyu Police Station while the injured were rushed to various hospitals.

In a separate incident, 18 people, including three children were seriously injured Wednesday morning after a Mombasa bound bus rolled near Capital Center in Nairobi.

The injured were rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital for treatment.
