Four people killed after gunmen attack Garissa village

Tension is high at Dujis village, 100 kilometers from Garissa Town, following the killing of four people from the same family by unknown assailants on Wednesday morning.

The three included a 1-year-old girl and three men who were attacked in their home and murdered in cold blood.

According to a resident who spoke to Citizen TV on phone, the four were shot dead while asleep in their makeshift houses at around 1:00 am before the culprits escaped on feet in what is believed to be a revenge mission.

A contingent of security personnel led by County commissioner James Kianda and the County police chief Rashid Mohamed promptly rushed to the scene to assess the situation.

Reports indicate that there has been a long-standing border dispute between the Audhak and Aulian clans resulting in the deaths of several people in the last one year.

On October 21st, one person was killed at Faf Kalal area at the border between Dadaab and Balambala, after gunmen stormed a construction site where they killed one person and injured several others.

Just three weeks ago, two people were seriously injured after they were shot by unknown gunmen at Abdisamit Village in Dadaab Constituency.

There has been a series of peace meeting between the two communities that have resulted in peace deals that are yet to yield fruits.
