Two children among those killed in a grisly Meru accident

Two children are among four people who died in the Meru accident on Saturday morning.

The incident occurred at Mwichiune along Nkubu-Embu road after the two vehicles collided head on.

There were a total of 11 people on board the Maua-bound matatu when the Meru accident occurred.

According to Imenti South OCPD John Cheruiyot, the pickup that was carrying khat (miraa) was enroute to Embu from Meru was speeding.

Those injured are recuperating at Consolata Nkubu Hospital.

In June, four people were killed in a similar accident after a lorry carrying fertiliser collided with a matatu at Kariene in Central Imenti.

The previous month, six people were killed after a matatu and a pickup collided head-on.
