Four suspected robbers gunned down
Police on Friday night shot dead four suspected thugs who had raided the home of Muranga branch KNUT Secretary General Amos Murigi at Kabati area in Kandara.
Kandara OCPD Gregory Mutiso, however, said that one of the thugs managed to escape with bullet injuries during the midnight incident.
Mutiso says the suspected robbers were armed with pistols and machetes.
It is said the thugs managed to gain entry into Murigi’s house after they lay an ambush when he was opening the gate.
His wife, however, immediately called a Nyumba Kumi initiative official who then notified the police.
An exchange of gunfire ensued afterward, between the thugs and police officers.
The bodies of the deceased were taken to the Thika District Hospital mortuary.
