Four suspects arrested over theft of transformers in Homa Bay County

Police in Homa Bay County have arrested four suspects over vandalism and theft of more than ten electricity transformers and confiscated a lorry after raiding a homestead within South Kanyabala Sub Location in Homa Bay Town constituency.

Among the suspects who were arrested is the driver of the lorry suspected to have been used in transporting transformers from various regions in the county and other neighboring counties.

During the raid, police also seized more than ten transformers which the suspects had hidden at the homestead in the area.

It is reported that the suspects had formed a tendency of stealing the transformers to remove oil and metals which they would sell.

Homa Bay County Commissioner Moses Lilan said preliminary investigations revealed that there were other suspects who have been colluding with those who were apprehended.

The suspects are being detained at Homa Bay police station awaiting to be arraigned.
