Four suspects nabbed with counterfeit cigarettes worth Ksh.18M
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Saturday arrested four suspects who were found distributing counterfeit cigarettes worth Ksh.18 million in Nairobi.
Detectives, acting on a tip off, seized 182 cartons, each holding 50 packets of cigarettes branded as Golden Deer King Size at Kenyatta Market in Nairobi’s Kilimani area.
The DCI further indicated that the four; Paul Njoroge, Kefa Onyino, Joseph Kariuki and John Wainaina will be arraigned on Monday November 25, 2019.
Police have launched a manhunt for one more suspect said to be of Chinese origin.
The counterfeit goods and the lorry that was ferrying them are being held by the police.
