Four suspects who raped woman in turns as husband, children watched arrested

Four out of five suspects who raped a woman in turns and assaulted her husband after stealing from them in Nakuru County on July 3, 2020 have been arrested.

The gang, armed with crude weapons, is said to have broken into the victims’ house in Njoro in the middle of the night on Friday last week and assaulted the man then tied him up.

They then ransacked the house and robbed the family of Ksh.34,000 in cash, a D-light solar panel, gas cooker, a mountain bike, and mobile phones among other electronics.

Afterwards, according to a report from the DCI, the suspects forced the couple’s children to witness as they raped their mother in turns before slaughtering one hen, preparing and eating it.

DCI detectives on Monday at 4a.m conducted a raid, following a tip-off from Nyumba Kumi, and nabbed; William Kihara Ndegwa (26), David Ng’ang’a Ngure (22), Eliud Njoroge (36) and Geoffrey Mwangi (36).

The first suspect – William Kihara – was reportedly subjected to “mob injustice” by irate members of the public before the officers rescued him and took him to hospital under guard.

They are all presently in lawful custody pending arraignment as a manhunt for the fifth suspect continues.
