Four top KWS bosses under fire over abuse of office claims

The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has interdicted four deputy directors over abuse of office allegations.

In a statement, KWS Director General Brigadier John Waweru said the officers will now be required to step aside pending a probe into the matter.

They are Lynette Muganda (Deputy Director Human Capital), Michael Odhiambo (Acting Deputy Director, Corporate Services), John Mwangi (Acting Deputy Director, Finance and Administration) and Christopher Oludhe (Head, Supply Chain Management).

In acting capacity are Valentain Kanani, Eng. Walter Ochieng, Japheth Kilonzo and Leah Naisoi.

A number of officers have also been reassigned.

Robert Muasya who previously served as Deputy Director, Security has been moved to the Director General’s Office (Special Projects).

Nancy Kabete will replace him in acting capacity.

Michael Kipkeu whose been serving as Deputy Director, Devolution and Community Service, will carry out his duties at the Director General’s Office (Special Projects) while Ann Kahihia has been named as his replacement.

Paul Gathitu who has been at the helm of the Corporate Communications Department and Service Spokesperson moves to the Inspectorate.

His previous role will be played by Ngugi Gecaga in acting capacity.
