Four year old drowns in a borehole in Bomet County

A four-year-old girl drowned in Siriat area, Bomet County while drawing water from a borehole on Thursday evening.

It is alleged that the deceased slipped and fell into 20-foot borehole at their homestead, after a five litre container she was pulling, overweighed her.

According to Bomet disaster management officer Mr. Stanley Mutai, residents of Siriat attempted to rescue the girl without success.

Sotik police officers, led by OCPD Jonathan Ngala and a team of disaster management officers, visited the scene and helped retrieve the body.

The body was taken to Kapkatet Hospital morgue in Kericho County.
