Free eye, dental services in honour of Matiba extended
The Murang’a County Government has said the free clinic for patients seeking eye and dental checkups at the Kenneth Matiba Hospital will be extended.
County officials said the services, which were rolled out in honour of the late veteran politician Kenneth Matiba, have been prolonged due to the high number of patients who turned up.
Speaking to the Press, area governor Mwangi Wa Iria said the expansion of the hospital is long overdue and is a top priority for his administration.
The governor also urged politicians to embrace Matiba’s slogan “Let the people decide ” and avoid petty politics.
Patients at the hospital lamented that they had to queue for several hours before seeing a doctor but expressed their gratitude for the free service.
