Friday, July 31 2o20 has been declared a Public Holiday to allow those who profess to the Muslim faith celebrate Idd-Ul-Azha.
The announcement was made in a Gazette Notice issued by Interior CS Fred Matiang’i on Wednesday.
Eid al Adha is the second of two Islamic holidays celebrated across the world, honoring Abraham’s obedience to God demonstrated by willingness to sacrifice his son.
Muslim leaders have been pushing to have the holiday recognized as a public holiday like Eid-ul-fitr.
