Primary school teacher arrested for defiling three minors
A primary school teacher was on Sunday arrested for allegedly defiling three pupils in Kapsaos Village, Uasin Gishu County.
Willy Kiprop, who has been teaching standard 1 to 5 pupils at Cheptebo Primary School, allegedly defiled a 12-year-old standard 5 pupil before the villagers and authorities got wind of his actions.
Angry residents, led by their village elder John Mwangi, stormed the accused’s house after the minors informed the elders that the man had been repeatedly defiling them.
The residents frog-marched the teacher a few meters from his house, chained him using ropes before flogging him mercilessly. Police arrived at the scene where they arrested the teacher and took the three children alleged to have been defiled by Mr Kiprop for questioning.
According to the children, who positively identified the teacher as the perpetrator, the latest incident involved a 12-year-old class 5 girl from Cheptebo Primary School where he has been teaching.
The suspect admitted of being in an affair with a 16-year-old Form 2 student and two other minors.
“It is the devil that has driven me to do this,” he said.
Confirming the incident, area Assistant Chief Christine Cheboi said that the villagers informed her of the teacher’s misdeeds and she called the police who arrested him.
