Gangsters slaughter chicken in Nyeri

Residents of Rititi area in Mathira, Nyeri County on Wednesday woke up to a shocking sight of chicken heads scattered in their compounds after armed gangsters invaded five homes and slaughtered 80 chicken worth Ksh100,000.

The thugs slaughtered the chicken at around midnight and then packed them in sacks, leaving their heads scattered all over the place.

The farmers who claimed that a similar incident had taken place in neighbouring villages, adding that there could be a ready market for the loot.

Police in the area have launched investigations into the incident.
