Garissa Governor graft case postponed

Garissa Governor graft case postponed

The High Court has temporarily suspended the plea taken by Garissa Governor Nadhif Jama.

While delivering the ruling, Justice Weldon Korir issued the conservatory orders following claims by Jama that his political rivals are behind his tribulations over the procurement of ambulances for the County Government of Garissa.

The Governor further alleged that the process by EACC is being micromanaged by a powerful Jubilee politician who wants to ensure that he is harassed and intimidated through a court process.

Mr. Jama was set to plead to charges of fraudulent procurement of ambulances in Garissa County.

The plea taking at a magistrate court will now await outcome of the case at the High Court which will be heard on July 22nd, 2015.
