Garissa Launches Major Tourism Campaign

The County’s all new marketing campaign, is designed to encourage both foreign and local tourists to choose Garissa as their next vacation destination.

The campaign by promoting the Bouralgi Giraffe Sanctuary located on the outskirts of Garissa town as a one-of-a-kind must see attraction and is set to get a Sh. 60 million facelift before the year ends.

Known as the Home of the endangered Hirola antelope, Garissa boasts of a large range of flora and fauna with most of its wildlife remaining untouched because of its low population per square mile.

Garissa is aiming to promote itself as an alternative destination to such well established Northern Kenya safari destinations like Isiolo and Marsabit, and hopes to use its pristine natural environment and eco-tourism opportunities to bring in new visitors.
