Get more children to fill schools – MP
Voi Member of Parliament Hon Jones Mlolwa has urged parents in the area to have more children so that they can fill up the gaps in schools that have fewer pupils in Taita Taveta County.
Speaking in Voi during the Madaraka Day celebrations, Mlolwa claimed that men and women are failing to produce more children due to excessive consumption of alcohol.
He said some schools especially in Sagalla area in his constituency have fewer pupils than expected, while some don’t have Standard Eight classes.
The legislator noted that schools from Mwololo area have as low as 46 students in the entire school, adding that it is hard to find a school that has more than 100 pupils.
Mlolwa urged chiefs and their assistants to tame the illicit brew menace that have rendered many potential parents unproductive.
