Gigantic fish weighing over 500kgs caught in Lamu

Fishermen in Lamu on Wednesday netted their biggest catch yet, a gigantic fish weigh in excess of 500 kilograms.

The fish which caused a spectacle on the busy fishing village took the effort of more than three men to drag it to the shore.

Since the excited fishermen could not haul it into their small boat, they were forced to tether it using rope.

They then towed it to the shoreline using two boats.

Videos seen by Citizen Digital showed fishermen and curious onlookers milling at the shore.

Several people later cut the fish into small pieces and distributed it amongst themselves.
