Girl kills boyfriend in Buruburu over text message

Police are investigating a case where a 21-year-old girl is accused of stabbing her boyfriend over a feud orchestrated by a text message at Buruburu, Nairobi.

According to Buruburu OCPD Richard Kerich, investigations are ongoing to determine the chronology of events that led to the death of 24-year-old Faridi Mohamed with the girl, Kamanda Wanjiru, remaining the prime suspect.

The fight is said to have broken out after the suspect found text messages from another lover on the deceased’s phone.

Wanjiru is reported to have sustained injuries during the fight and is undergoing treatment at the Metropolitan Hospital in Buruburu.

The deceased has been taken to Buruburu police station upon demand by his family who requested he should not be taken to the morgue, due to their religious affiliation.

Meanwhile, police in Kirinyaga are holding a 27-year-old woman for allegedly attacking her husband with a panga.

Kirinyaga police deputy commander Charles Ontita, confirmed the incident saying that the man, Geoffrey Muchiri, was asleep when her wife attacked him for an unknown reason.

The husband, 30, is currently nursing injuries at the Mt Kenya Nursing Home.
