Give us Sec Gen position, New Ford Kenya tells Jubilee

The defunct New Ford Kenya party leader and Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka has expressed the party’s desire to get the Secretary General position during the appointment of newly-launched Jubilee Party officials.

Lusaka said it was his hope that there would be equality and fairness in the appointment of interim officials that would steer the party through the next elections, before party elections are held.

The governor however maintained that their intention to join Jubilee was not advised by the desire for party positions, though maintaining that it would be paramount for every affiliate party in the new outfit to be given a slot.

Speaking after attending a church service at Saint Peters Anglican Church of Kenya in Maraba estate, Kakamega County, Lusaka also expressed confidence in pushing the Jubilee agenda in Western despite it being a largely ODM zone.

His utterances are part of an ongoing push by New Ford Kenya to get a “major position” in the new outfit in what its former officials say is a way to give it command in the Western region.

Before its official dissolution last weekend, the party had threatened to rescind its decision to join Jubilee Party if it was overlooked in the appointment process.

No names have so far been confirmed in any position as leaders continue to jostle for positions in the new party.

Other than New Ford Kenya, other parties that dissolved and joined Jubilee include Presider Uhuru Kenyatta’s TNA, Deputy President William Ruto’s URP, APK, Tip Tip, UPK, Ford People, Saba Saba, Republican Congress Party, PNU among others.
