In a statement sent to media houses, Shollei castigated the EACC for omitting Chief Justice Willy Mutunga and Independent and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chair Isaac Hassan from the corruption list.

“Why has EACC not investigated Willy Mutunga for abuse of office, is he above the law?" She questioned.

She noted: “It is curious to note that the IEBC chair (Isaack Hassan) was recently at EACC to record a statement over the Chicken gate saga yet he is not listed at being under investigations.”

Shollei commended President Uhuru Kenyatta for the fight against corruption though pointing out that “tackling economic crimes cannot be done through a public relations charade”.

“I know that His Excellency the President is very keen and committed to fighting and ending corruption. However investigations must be above board and must be completed swiftly,” she said.

The former Chief Registrar of Judiciary was speaking after appearing before the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) on Monday as investigations into her conduct at the judiciary began.

She is faced with allegations of flouting procurement laws while at the judiciary, accusations that led to her dismissal from the position last year.

Shollei has however denied the allegations against her saying the case is being used to harass her.

“The allegations against me have been pending for 2 years, the files are not being finalised just so as to harass me,” she said.

Deputy President William Ruto chief of staff Marianne Kitany also appeared before the anti graft body for questioning in regards to allegations of abuse of office and diverting Sh100 million to push the removal of Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru from office.
