Gospel Musician L Jay: I Run Away From Women

Gospel Musician L Jay: I Run Away From Women

Speaking to Mambo Mseto's Mzazi Willy M. Tuva on Friday afternoon, the musician revealed that women were top among temptations experienced in his life.

'Ma-dame wanapenda sana kuji-associate na sisi. Kama hatuongei muziki ama urafiki wa kawaida, mimi hukimbia.' (Girls like associating themselves with us artists. If we are not talking about music or just having the normal kind of friendship, I run away from them.)

Asked about whether or not he had a girlfriend, L Jay said he was currently focusing on his career.

'Kwa sasa sina wakati wa kuwa na girlfriend, lakini that time itafika.' (For now I don't have time to have a girlfriend, but that time will come.)

L Jay said that gospel artists come under a lot of scrutiny.

'Uki-mention hata jina 'Mpenzi' kwenye wimbo wako, huo unakuwa mjadala.' (If you mention even a word like 'Lover' in your song, that becomes a huge debate.)

L Jay said there are not many opportunities for gospel artists to perform, adding that many gospel artists are not open to performing in night clubs when they are invited to.

L Jay is a Groove Award winner, known for hit songs such as 'laleiyo', 'maa-leji', and 'tapala'.
