Governor Alfred Mutua drums up support for Maendeleo Chap Chap

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua officially launched Maendeleo Chap Chap movement in an event held at the Machakos Stadium on Saturday.

In his address, Mutua called for the support of the movement saying the county has realised tremendous achievements during his tenure as governor.

“We have realised tremendous achievements during my time as Machakos County governor under Maendeleo Chap Chap, ranging from construction of roads, improvement of healthcare and facilitating provision of water to the residents.”

“We are rolling out a plan to familiarise the movement across the country in a bid to ensure a change in system and development.”

Governor Mutua said the movement which runs under the tagline Inawezekana na Itawezekana will bring change in Machakos County and improve the living conditions of the county residents.

“The movement has been based on the foundation of the fact that everything is possible and focuses on efficient and quality deliverance of services as well as championing for the rights of the youth.”

“There is need for a paradigm shift in the county and an overhaul of the current system since it has evidently failed.”

He asserted that the county is lagging behind compared to other countries like Malaysia which were at one point on the same level with Kenya.

“We have achieved much but we have been let down in several instances. Several countries like Malaysia were in the same position with us but they are now far and are even in a position to lend us money.”

He said Maendeleo Chap Chap is a national movement aimed at improving the way of life of the people and changing the way of doing things.

Other leaders present at the event were former Kibwezi MP Kalembe Ndile and Mwingi North MP John Munuve.
