Governor appoints sister as Commissioner of Happiness

Sad people of Imo State, Nigeria can now go to Happiness Commission and acquire a new mood.

Imo Governor Rochas Okorocha has raised eyebrows after appointing her sister as the Happiness Commissioner for Imo State. The governor announced the post during a swearing in ceremony of other 27 commissioners.

Commissioner of Happiness, Ogechi Ololo is unapologetic of the post as it has been met with derision by people across the world.

In an interview with BBC Africa Ololo said there is more to the Happiness Commission as it also in charge of “couples’ fulfillment.”

“Happiness can mean anything to anybody, for some people happiness means having food on their table, some it’s about schools, some it’s about the roads for some it’s about security,” she said. “My role is to create positive attitudes for our Imo people.”

However, this is not the first time that the Imo governor has shocked people in Africa as he reportedly erected a statue dedicated to South African President Jacob Zuma – “a man who has no apparent links to the south-eastern state,” BBC reported.
