Governor Gachagua ready for re-election contest

Nyeri Governor Nderitu Gachagua  has now embarked on a re-election plan even as the Members of County Assembly (MCAs) kicked off the process to oust him from office over what they termed as mismanagement of county resources.

Speaking during a leaders meeting in Mathira, Nyeri the county boss said he was ready to face the ward representatives in court if his impeachment motion sail through.

Gachagua further accused the assembly Speaker, David Mugo, Majority Leader Duncan Gituanja and former MP Ephraim Maina of fueling his wars with the MCAs and inciting the impeachment motion.

He further accused the MCAs of fabricating grounds for his impeachment to destabilize his re-election bid adding that he had not violated the Constitution to warrant his removal from office.

Gachagua blamed the county’s poor performance last year on his absence when he traveled to India for treatment.

While asking ward representatives to stop anticipating his demise, the county boss affirmed that he has fully recovered and able to serve the people of Nyeri for a second term.
